“Delicious” – UPI
“Excellent” – Chicago Magazine
“Delightful” – Time

Life’s Not Fair, So What!, is a comic yet touching view of life written by John Powers, best known for the wildly popular book and musical “Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?”

This new comedy features his reflections on life, love, family and the rights and passages of time. This is a one-person show with a small set. Ticket prices for your fundraiser could easily be in the $30 to $35 range. We’ve done this show for a number of parishes already and the audiences have loved it!

Powers, a native of Chicago’s south side, is the author of three other books, including the hit sequel to “Patent Leather Shoes”, the best-selling “The Unoriginal Sinner and the Ice Cream God.”

The Chicago Tribune calls Life’s Not Fair, So What! “one of those rare shows that actually touches some of the issues that make up the minutiae of our everyday lives. In his best moments — such as when he talks with wisdom and humor about the joys and perils of parenting — Powers is positively inspirational…He'll charm the pants off plenty of folks.”

Father Tom Kasputis of St. Rene Goupil’s parish in Chicago calls the show, “a nostalgic glimpse of growing up and the wisdom found there. It’s Mark Twainish.”
